Summary of La Usurpadora
La Usurpadora is about a woman who meets another who is absolutely identical to her. While one is shallow, unscrupulous and married to a millionaire, the other is all heart, though she is a poor orphan who has suffered all her life. Paola and Paulina decide to change places. Paola proposes the switch so she can run off with a lover and Paulina accepts under threat of being unfairly imprisoned. But the replacement wife ends up being better for the family than the real one: Not only does she offer loving support to her "husband" and "children", but she dedicates herself to rescuing the once-powerful matriarch of the household, Grandma Piedad, from alcoholism. But when everyone finally is happy, Paola decides to return.

"LA USURPADORA" REVIEW

Actually, 'La Usurpadora' is one of the best soap operas I've ever watched. Even though it's a 'novela rosa', it has certain elements that make it attractive and addictive from the beginning to the end. One of those elements might be Gabriela Spanic's performance. She's an incredibly beautiful and versatile woman who could play both roles perfectly. As Paola Bracho, the villain, she demonstrated to be an intriguing and evil diva. As Paulina Martinez, the heroine, she always showed herself as a sweet, kind and good-natured woman, always seeking for other people's happiness. I love the story, I watched it several years ago in my country, but now it's again on the air, and believe me, I programmed my VCR to tape it every afternoon. If you like soap operas (telenovelas), don't miss it... LA USURPADORA IS A MUST!

La Usurpadora is different from La Intrusa. This novel's story is about a twin forcing her twin to take her sister's place or she would be jailed, while La Intrusa is about Virginia, a governess who dies after helping the Junquera family, then her sister, Vanessa, falls in love with Virginias's husband.

I would say that both novelas are a bit the same because they both involve the same character acting like a twin and as you can see they both have the same version like Vanessa falls in love with Virginia's husband, like in the Usurpadora where the the good twin falls in love with the bad sister's husband. They are both great novelas, I absolutely enjoy watching them I could watch them over and over.

While La Intrusa has its differences and similarities, notice that the remake mentioned is not the recent telenovela with Gabriela Spanic, but another Venezuelan one: from 1987, with Mariela Alcala and Victor Camara. I love La Usurpadora and I think it's a great show! I think it's one of the best telenovelas yet!

La Usurpadora is a copy of La Intrusa. Everything is the same from the moment they see each other in the night club in the miror, till the day they discover they are sisters. I saw both telenovela's La Intrusa and La Usurpadora all the other characters that La Instrusa had was in La Usurpadora such as the stupid sister who is married to the man who always cheat on her. The grandma (I think the same woman played the grandma in both novela's) and the Painter who painted Virginia naked in la Intrusa was also in La Usurpadora.

La Usurpadora is the most gripping and fascinating telenovela I have seen. Gabriela Spanic exhibited a great performance in La Usurpadora, but don't forget the other two first-rate actors: Fernando Colunga and Libertad Lamarque (as different from La Intrusa). Story is also unpaired. Don't give up La Usurpadora!
